Hi Everyone
Well I am still loving Avignon, the streets are packed the people are partying and it's full on!! Everywhere you go people are performing in the streets, it is really great, full of life and fun. Tonight there are supposed to be fireworks down by the river so hopefully I can catch that, without getting lost. I actually get lost a lot, the streets are not all named and some have two names, one above the other, I have no idea how that works. But the place is a bit like Cornwall, very little, so you can be back where you started in no time at all. I have a map and off I go, I sometimes find the loveliest little spots, just by happening upon them, it is brilliant.
Yesterday the girls were due in Avignon for a stopover, I couldn't contact them to see when they would arrive or where so I had to find out myself. I found out where the buses park, two different spots, but not when they would arrive, hmm conundrum!! I used some logic and found a place where I could watch one bus park and the route the other passengers would take into the city, so I wouldn't miss them. I settled down with some puzzles in the shade and waited.........and waited. I finally figured they must have parked somewhere else and disappointed I toddled off to have lunch. I ate in the main square and watched some of the performances, they are really good, even without understanding French. I took one more look around both bus parks, but still no Cosmos bus. I went home and refreshed, did some housework and thought, bugger it I will give it one more shot. I really did want to see them. I am missing them more now than when they were still in Oz. Maybe because I had contact with them then and now I don't. Anyway I found the bus, but had missed the girls by 20 minutes. They arrived later than I expected. I took another look around the square and the Pope Palace, but couldn't see them. I decided to go wait near the bus and at least get to say hi, which I did. It was great to see them, if only for 5 minutes. I gave them both a hug. Learra was not feeling well, she suffers from the heat way more than Kearie. It is the humidity that is doing us in, the heat itself we are used to, but the humidity sucks, big time!! Anyway we have organised for me to meet them in Bordeaux fro lunch or something. Kearie said they had been to some awesome places and that she really loved Switzerland.
Today I have been for my usual morning walk, it is starting to heat up outside, but I spend the afternoons inside with my air conditioning, watching the tour. Absolutely loved the whole Lance failure thing, brilliant!! But very sorry for Cadel, I am not a fan of his, but to lose the yellow jersey riding with a broken elbow, well you gotta admire the guy. Sucks for him.
Yesterday some young men were down below my window, playing music, if you could call it that, it was monotonous and boring. Suddenly this old African man appeared, well did that guy have rhythm or what?. He walks into the little nook in my street, brings out a huge green garbage wheely bin and starts tapping on the top of it. One of the young guys stops his doleful chanting and gets on his drums and accompanies the old guy, it was brilliant, really great music and all just like that, no planning. The old man was brilliant, I loved it. I had taken a pic earlier of the young folk, but sadly had put my camera away before the old guy turned up and I didn't want to miss any of it going to get it, so no pics of him for you. But believe me, he was great. I noticed later that the bin was missing, I think they took it with them, but it was back the next day, so I still have somewhere to put my trash, yep I knew you would be worried about that!!
The tour is about to start being televised, so have to go, cheers to you all

Taken from me bedroom window, yep that is a baby grand piano you can see.
Some of the street antics.
Always something going on.
Some of these poor folk are wearing the hottest clothes.
One more from my window, you gotta love Avignon..
